We are approved by the Federal Aviation Administration to operate under Part 141 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. This tells you that Bristow Academy satisfies the FAA's flight standards in areas such as safety, quality of training and aircraft maintenance.

We are a specialized helicopter flight training school. We train only helicopter pilots and we do it right! And, we have one of the largest fleets of well-maintained training helicopters in the civilian world. As a result, you will experience little inconvenience in scheduling a helicopter for your instructional sessions.

In recent years, the stature and reputation of our school has grown to the point where we are internationally recognized as a leader in the field of ab-initio helicopter flight training. As a graduate of Bristow Academy, you will be recognized as someone who has gone through one of the best flight training programs in the civilian world.

You will be trained for the real world of helicopter flying, not just to pass examinations. You will leave our school having experienced flying in busy airspace, external load flying, confined area landings, and high-altitude flying. All of this experience is of practical use in your career.

Unlike some helicopter flight schools, we do not demand full payment for our courses in advance. You may pay-as-you-go or, if you wish, you may place a sum of money on account. Furthermore, if for any reason you choose to withdraw from the program, you will not be subject to financial penalty

Our program includes career guidance and job hunting assistance. We do not guarantee that you will get a job as a pilot upon completion of your training. However, over the past ten years, the majority of Bristow Academy graduates have been successful. You must be prepared to obtain at least a CFI rating and be willing to relocate nationwide, at least for the first job.

Bristow Academy specializes in training pilots for the real world of professional helicopter aviation. Unlike other flying training schools that provide instruction as an adjunct to other aviation activities, Bristow Academy's only business is training tomorrow's professional helicopter pilots.

Bristow Academy is the only flying training school outside of Europe approved to train pilots for the European JAA-CPL(H). A pilot can obtain a JAA license that is identical in every way to the licenses he/she might obtain at a European school.

Training costs are substantially lower at Bristow Academy than from any other CPL(H) training school. Good flying weather and the large fleet of aircraft combine to produce the most cost-effective helicopter flying training in the world.

Bristow Academy graduates have a proven track record of becoming professional helicopter pilots. The training programs at Bristow Academy provide a solid foundation upon which a successful career in aviation can be built. Bristow Academy is authorized to issue the F-1 visa. Under the terms of the F-1 visa program qualifying students may remain in America and gain on-the-job experience for up to 12 months after completing training by participating in Optional Practical Training. This is an important consideration, since there are far more opportunities to work as a flight instructor in America than in any other country. Flight instruction is an excellent, virtually indispensable method of building flying hours and gaining experience, two important factors prospective employers look for in evaluating job applicants.

We provide a full range of additional services to our students who are not from the local area. This includes help in areas such as housing, transportation, health insurance, and banking, as well as meeting new students at the airport upon arrival.
